School of Health Information Management OAUTHC, Ile-Ife Matriculates Fresh Students
A cross-section of the matriculating students at the School’s premises
The School of Health Information Management OAUTHC, Ile-Ife on Thursday matriculated newly admitted students for the 2016/2017 academic session. At the event, dignitaries led by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Victor Adetiloye; Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, Prof. Kayode Olabanji; Director of Administration, Mrs. Bola Alejo and Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr. M.S. Olaobaju and the Coordinator of Community Health Officers, Mrs. O.O. Owolabi all gathered at the event to felicitate with the matriculating students. Also present at the occasion were the; Deputy Director of General Administration, Mr. T.A. Olubodun; Deputy Director of Establishment, Mr. Segun Fawole; Dr. Bola Mapaye (representing the Provost College of Health Sciences, OAU); Pastor in charge of the Chapel of Grace (Mr. M.A. Oyelami) and the Chief Imam of the OAUTHC (Dr. I.S. Bello).
While welcoming the students into the institution, the Head and Coordinator of SHIM OAUTHC, Ile-Ife, Mr. Kayode Adepoju admonished the students to uphold a high level of moral and academic standard stating that “focus and commitment are key to every man’s success”. In his address, he further reiterated the achievements of the School in recent times, avowing that, with the support of the Management team, ably headed by the CMD, Prof. Victor Adetiloye, the school can now recount its successes in crossing the hurdles of accreditation for National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes carried out by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) in years 2012 and 2014 respectively.
The CMD also joined in congratulating the students and expressed how lucky they were to have been admitted amidst the vast number of applicants. He then corroborated the disclosure of the Coordinator of the School on the School’s achievements so far, affirming that such successful accreditations have undoubtedly paved ways for the graduates of the School to participate in the National Youth Service Corps Scheme (NYSC) and have also put the School in pole position to admit students through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board
In a brief interview with the Head and Coordinator of the School, Mr. Kayode Adepoju expressed appreciation to the Management for her unwavering support and assistance to the School. He additional sought the Management’s support on major areas of provision of hostel accommodation within the Hospital premises and school bus for SHIM.
