The school Community Health Officers’ Training Programme is one of the multi-disciplinary schools run by the Management of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals complex, Ile-Ife. The Regulatory body of the school is the Community Health Practitioners’ Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) Health Abuja. This Programme is run on Semester basis i.e. 4 semesters with lecturers drawn from within and outside to handle the courses based on guidelines from CHPRBN, Abuja.
LOCATION OF THE SCHOOL:
The School of Community Health Officers (C.H.O.) Training Programme is located in a well conducive area within the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife, just directly behind the School of Nursing building. The school trains students running Higher Diploma in Community Health. (Community Health Officers) for duration of two years.

The School is staffed as follows;

The Students are Seventy (70) in all i.e. 35 students for each set. Admission of these students was done on Federal Character Principles and merit with representative from various states of the country. They are also senior staff of middle level health care providers in their respective Local Government in the Primary Health Care Delivery System across the Country.
ACTIVITIES OF THE SCHOOL:
HOSTEL
The School now have two Hostels, the HD I hostel is located in the residence quarters of Urban Comprehensive Health Centre, Eleyele, Ile-Ife. The Students occupy the flats of two-bedrooms each with their conveniences.
The HD II Students have got there own hostel which is located in the hospital premises i.e. the VAMED building along staff quarters has been converted to students’ hostel.
